3D printing
Reproduce spare parts for 3D printing, with real dimensions
A broken clip, a lost cap, a bracket you can no longer buy. reverse3d takes you from the part (or its photos) to a measured STL and a CAD model you can tweak before printing.
The problem
- Searching model repositories rarely finds the exact part.
- Modeling from scratch requires knowing CAD.
What you get
- Watertight STL at scale, ready for the slicer.
- Parametric CAD to adjust tolerances and thicknesses.
- 2.5D reliefs from a single photo (plaques, logos, lithophanes).
How to do it with your AI agent
- 01
Photograph or scan
Photos all around or an existing scan.
“Turn the photos in clip/ into a measured 3D model.”
- 02
Adjust
Repair and scale the mesh.
“Repair clip/model.stl and scale it to 42 mm long.”
- 03
Print
Export the STL and the CAD.
“Generate the OpenSCAD for clip/model.stl so I can adjust the thickness.”
From the terminal
reverse3d run photos_to_model clip/ output/Start in 1 minute

Frequently asked questions
Do I need to know CAD?
No. You talk to your agent in plain language; the CAD is generated for you and you can edit it if you want.
Does it work for lithophanes?
Yes: the photo_to_relief recipe turns a photo into a 2.5D relief.
